Could it look like this?

While waiting for the Development boards to arrive....

OK, so I originally said "Hopefully by Friday". This didn't take into account that 4-layer boards take 2 days extra to make, and my cock-up of forgetting one of the solder mask layers when upload the design. So a little spare time on my hands.

So while waiting for the Development boards to arrive, I started designing the parts that would make up the casing and buttons for the whole unit.

As well as providing an insight into what the finished product could look like, its also useful to me as it defines the limitations on the size and shape of the final circuit board.

I tried to print the top half of the main casing component using my 3D printer and ABS plastic. While it gave a good enough object to use for fit testing at a later stage, it did warp at one corner, and the rounded edges look ugly as hell. The shrink tendency of ABS also means that the recess for the display shrunk slightly as it cooled, making it difficult to fit the display in.

So if anyone can provide insight on getting plastic parts manufactured on the very cheap, please get in touch.

So this is what I came up with. Think it'll work as a design? Or can you spot some major flaw I need to fix?
